CAT5 Wiring
CAT5 wiring can also be used to connect Crestron devices. Before making any
CAT5 connections, refer to the following network interconnection diagram and the
cautions that follow.

NOTE: Do not power up system until all wiring is verified. Care should be taken to
ensure data (Y, Z) and power (24, G) connections are not crossed.
NOTE: To calculate maximum CAT5 cable length, use the following equation:
L = 3000/PF
where L = maximum cable length (feet)
PF = total power factor for equipment on run (watts).
NOTE: For additional information on audio/video connections over CAT5, refer to
the latest version of the Crestron CAT5 Wiring Reference Guide (Doc. 6137), which
is available from the Downloads | Product Manuals section of the Crestron website
(www.crestron.com
).
Audio Source Wiring
NOTE: Use good quality shielded interconnects between source equipment,
CNX-PAD8A, and CNAMPX-12x60 to minimize noise. The required wire gauge is
dependent on the length of the wire run.
